Briana Mendez-Padilla is a bilingual journalist based in Long Beach, California, and a California Local News fellow reporting for Impulso. She has experience reporting on hyperlocal and statewide issues related to education, housing, and inequality in diverse communities for publications such as CalMatters, K-12 Dive, and the Signal Tribune. She graduated in 2024 from California State University Long Beach (CSULB) where she double majored in journalism and English education. There, she was also editor-in-chief and spearheaded the rebrand of ENYE (formerly known as DIG En Español), the bilingual campus magazine covering CSULB's Latine student population.
